We mainly needed this Shop-Vac to clean up basement flooding. I haven't had a chance to use it as a pump yet, but it looks like it should work as described. The pump is located inside the lid and you can hook up a garden hose to drain into a sink. I also used it to vacuum our trucks and it was very powerful, much better than the industrial vacs at the car wash. It even picked up all the dog hair, which was stuck to the upholstery like velcro. It came with tons of accessories and they all store very neatly in a bucket attached to the vac. The wheels are set up in a way that prevents the vac from tipping over, much better than a standard shop vac. Overall, it has a very sturdy and durable feel to it.
